This project focuses on the development of browser-based tools for link analysis (otherwise known as network analysis).

Network visualisation of entities is an extremely useful tool for intelligence and nonproliferation analysis. But the tools that have historically been used for network analysis are desktop application based and do not integrate well with database based data. The purpose of developing browser-based tools is to overcome these limitations to enable visualisation of larger quantities of data particularly where the data is generated via automated or semi-automated means (i.e. through the use of AI0.

Under this project, tools have been developed both to visualise data in the browser and to load data into the browser from various sources such as Neo4j, POST, selected remote APIs and CSV files. These tools are coded in ReactJS, which is specifically designed for dynamic interactive browser-based experiences. In many cases, these tools have been customised to facilitate visualisation of specific types of data, such as academic publication data, which is highly structured data well suited to visualisation.
